Teacher's Basic Information

Here's a quick outline to remind our volunteer instructors on how to interact with the organization:

  • Keep the volunteer coordinator updated with your general schedule so we can notify you of teaching opportunities that your availability.

  • Watch for emails announcing new teaching opportunities and volunteer to teach those that interest you by notifying John at jjriegler@ag.tamu.edu

  • When you've signed up to teach a class, contact the host's site rep ahead of time to confirm time/place and material availability.

  • Ensure that all students sign the roster and complete the questionaires; this information is our main 'payment'; it shows that FLCCT is productive.

  • Do not recommend services or give personal advice while teaching; remain an unbiased source of general information.

  • Do not guess answers to questions; note the question and later provide the answer to the host representative after researching the answer.

  • Log your hours in the Volunteer Service Report form.

  • If you have problems or find opportunities for improvements, inform the host's site rep or the volunteer coordinator.

  • Watch for further volunteer training opportunities for your own personal growth as well as the support of the organization.

  • Come to our yearly volunteer appreciation parties and receive your accollades!
