Volunteer Instructor
Information
Volunteer instructors teach classes on basic money management, present
workshops, or operate exhibits at educational fairs. Education focuses on
basic financial management topics such as budgeting, the use and pitfalls of
credit, banking, and saving. Instructors will teach their assigned classes,
actively involve the participants, distribute and collect participant
evaluation forms, and prepare a class summary report when needed. Exhibit
volunteers will assist in planning, staffing, and implementing the event.
All members are
required to receive a one-hour membership training. An eight-hour
volunteer training is provided for financial literacy education
instructors. The training will provide you with the tools and resources to
make your instruction experience a success. You will receive the
award-winning FDIC "Money Smart" curricula (English and Spanish) and
practical hands on content training. The training includes principles and
techniques to enhance adult learning and performance. Additional
training focused on youth is also provided.
The next volunteer instructor training is scheduled for April 1, 3, and
8th, 2008.
