We welcome your donation! Your funds help us continue to recruit volunteers, teach classes, and increase financial literacy within our community.
FLCCT welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds- no special financial education is needed to contribute. We train our volunteers and provide them with the class lesson plans and materials; we need enthusiastic people to deliver the message. In addition to teachers, we also need office support, community outreach liason, grant writers and fund raisers, and more.
The majority of our volunteers are adult instructors. As an instructor, you can sign up for the scheduled classes that are convenient for you to teach. Classes occur all over the Austin area, average an hour or 1 ½ hours in length and can occur during working hours, in the evenings, or on weekends.
We do ask that our volunteers:
contribute $35 dollars towards their training, which covers the costs of their personal set of class materials and background check.
pass a basic background check.
complete our training program, which includes both on-line and live classroom instruction.
'shadow' (audit) an FLCCT teacher during a class.
perform at least four hours of service a year.
Our volunteer training program occurs twice a year. We also hold periodic volunteer orientation sessions to answer questions before potential volunteers commit to the organization.
If you would like to join, please fill out a membership application and an volunteer background check authorization. Return the forms via mail, email, or fax to:
