We welcome your donation! Your funds help us continue to recruit volunteers, teach classes, and increase financial literacy within our community.
The Financial Literacy Coalition of Central Texas is a non-profit corporation with the mission of fostering community prosperity by enhancing the knowledge and skills needed for sound financial decision-making. This is done by offering low-cost or free financial education; the FLCCT is not a source for specific financial or legal advice.
The coalition consists of members of the public and private sector, including non-profit organizations, county government, financial institutions, professionals from the financial planning community, educators from higher education institutions, and members of the general public. The coalition members are all interested in and committed to improving the public's understanding of personal finance.
The FLCCT recruits and trains volunteers to deliver sound money management education to adults and youth throughout the Central Texas community. FLCCT volunteers teach from a variety of curriculae developed by various financial institutions, such as the FDIC, The Department of Labor, the National Endowment for Financial Education, and others. While all classes cover money handling, the various curriculae have been developed for specific audiences, such as young children, high school students, young adults or adults. We choose the curriculae that best matches the needs of our clients and provide the needed materials for each class. Additionally, we support financial literacy awareness through money-related lectures and activities.
The FLCCT forms partnerships with host organizations that have clients interested in receiving financial education. The hosts provide the classroom setting and the students, the FLCCT provides the training materials and the teachers.
The Financial Literacy Coalition of Central Texas activities are coordinated by Texas AgriLife Extension, Travis County. FLCCT Programs serve all people regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.
